Why was Cole Hamels taken out after .2 innings. I know he wasn't doing good and there was a delay, but how come they didn't let him go longer. As far as I know there is no injury report. Maybe I'm just not understanding something.

Some managers don't like throwing a young arm back out after a rain delay. My guess is they didn't want to risk an injury so they played it safe.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Also I was wondering does that mean that was his start through the rotation? Or will be pushed up?

My guess is they'll just keep him on normal 5 day restand use this as an excuse to give his arm some down time.

He only threw 24 pitches so it's hard to know unless we hear something from the team. Randy Wells threw 16 pitches last week, got yanked, and had a nice outing on two days' rest. I'm sure we'll know in time to make any necessary lineup changes.

Im not sure if I like this news... Hamels doesn't usually do good with added rest. Its an odd thing, but when he gets too much down time he comes back with a bad start.
