acquire Kendry Morales...a good move?

Postby bongovt » Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:21 pm

In 11th out of 12 teams...way out of it already, and building for next year...Someone offered me Kendry Morales for Adam Dunn...here are the important details, though...this is an OBP league(otherwise std. 5x5 roto), so Dunn is a top 10-15 player, and is likely 40 pts higher in OBP, but as Morales matures and takes more walks, it may get closer...also, and this is a key point, this is a 3yr keeper league. Both can be kept for 2 more years, but the equalizer is Dunn is owned for a 6th rd pick, and Morales for a 26th rd pick...so I'd be giving most of this season (which I already lost) and some OBP pts, for a 20 rd gain in draft picks next year for an otherwise similar player...would you do it? WHIR...leave a link thanks!

If you are giving up for the year, absolutely. No questions asked. I may ask for a little more because Dunn is a lot better than Morales for this year.

I am in a similiar situation in one league. Morales was straight dropped though (keep 3 bats + 3 hurlers) I am going to burn my waiver (3) to acquire him as a keeper for next. It should open a few options for me on the trade front (only need to find two more keepers :))

Perhaps point out that he was dropped in my league during trade talks.

good luck!
