after 09, they were claiming that nadal's topspin shots ended up right in soderling's wheelhouse. we'll see if nadal makes any adjustments to flatten out his shots, which he he has somewhat done as of late.

Interesting. i have to deal with that problem with my second serve all the time; it's usually in just the right spot for taller guys to crush it if they can get around it. funny that they would have that problem at the pro level, too. i just assumed that they all have enough kick there to negate that.

Nadal was number 1 for a while back in '08....in fact Federer hadn't even been number one for 50 straight weeks... 47 straight weeks at would No. 1 doesn't even count as a streak for Federer.
By the way, Nadal is just ridiculous on clay. He's the type of player that is beatable, but one has to give so much effort physically and mentally for an entire match to beat him that it's nearly impossible to do....
