This was one of the greatest streaks in sports history. To be that on top of your game against the best competition in the world consistently for 6 years is remarkable.

Yup. Of all the greats to play the game the previous record was 10 shared by Lendl and Laver. He more than doubled that.

Frankly, I was equally as shocked that he lost the record in the quarter finals.
He was on the precipice of extending the streak and fell short. That's not something Fed has done much in his career.

I'll split the difference. Nadal in three (maybe four, Soderling's playing well but Nadal is a whole different challenge for him. So far Soderling's played mostly big hitters and hasn't seen too many fast guys yet, nor has he seen many guys who really like to spin the ball....)
