Wainwright for Leake/Panda and Kuroda for Chapman

Postby Goatrider » Mon May 31, 2010 11:50 pm

Bottom two teams have started firesales. Been verbally offered Wainwright for Leake by one team and Panda with Kuroda for Chapman and probably Brad Lincoln. I think this makes my team unstoppable but none of the new guys are eligible to keep and leaves us with slim pickings for keepers next year. What are the usual thoughts on winning now even when mortgaging the future? Definitely need some thoughts and WHIR.

NL Only. 12 teams. Standard 5X5. 6 player keeper. Must carry 2 C and 5 OF.

C- Chris Ianetta, Chris Snyder
1B- Troy Glaus
2B- Rick Weeks
3B- Ian Stewart
SS- Hanley Ramirez
MI- Casey MacGehee
CI- Jerry Hairston (would now have sandoval)
OF- Adam Dunn, Marlon Byrd, Justin Upton, Cody Ross, Fred Lewis
U- Luis Durango
SP- Jonathan Sanchez, Mike Leake, Carlos Silva, Edwin Jackson (would add wainwright and kuroda)
RP- Francisco Cordero, Tyler Clippard, Mike Adams, Sean Marshall, Carlos Villanueva
Reserve P- Aroldis Chapman, JA Happ (DL), Brandon Lyon, Brad Penny (DL), Brad Lincoln
Reserve Hitters- Ronny Cedano, Jon LuCroy

If you think the moves put you in a great position to win, I see no reason not to do them (particularly the first one.) We play to win, or atleast I do. Funny how some guys always seem content to have to hottest collection of prospects and sleepers and finish in the middle of the pack every year. I made some similar future-sacrificing moves in my hockey league this year and it definitely contributed to my money league victory.

help with mine?

I agree, if the first offer gives you the best chance to win now, do it.
