Time to bail on C. Lee? WHIR

Postby Darth Danielus » Mon May 31, 2010 10:09 pm

So -- I used my fairly high waiver-priority early in the season to nab carlos lee, thinking he'd get back to normal sometime soon. How much longer should I wait? Its a 10 - team keeper, 6x6 roto league... I'm usually in contention every year, but a bunch of crappy starts has me wallowing near the bottom of the standings.... Here's my roster, and some notable FAs. Also thinking tejada may be wearing out his welcome....any thoughts would be much appreciated

Agree about dumping Lee. Don't know what categories you need the most help in but Davis will help you at SB's and Willingham put up some good HR & RBI numbers but don't expect much in the average. I also think that Aramis Ramirez is going to break out anytime.

Don't love the OF (nice infield with AGon, Utley, and ARod).

Yeah, maybe bail on Lee, but do any of the Free Agents expected to greatly outproduce him, and I think he still has a higher upside.

doesn't really look like it right now, but it wouldn't suprise me if Lee is a better option for the last few months of the year than Soriano
Raj Davis is leading off and hot right now; kind of amazing for me to see him & Bourn as FA's. Guess in a 10 teamer with 3 OF spots its a different game. Still, sb's count right?

They do indeed count -- and I'm pretty weak there. I was actually leaning toward hart until I realized davis was available....

i would def drop carlos effin lee in a 10 teamer 3 OF league...he has no business being rostered......there should be better options.....

i would pick up rajah as he is heating up again

as for the ss well pick ur poison between tejada and ramirez.

I would not drop him. I can't imagine your WW or FA list has anything better than Lee. If you do drop him, another team will surely pick him up, meaning you "lose" him for nothing, so he might have a little trade value based on his name alone... Does anyone know what Lee has left on his contract? Any chance Houston unloads him, Berkman, and/or Oswalt to start rebuilding? A move away from Houston might help him...

thx for the help in mine. I do not really see anyone that has MORE value than Lee. But I do understand your frustation. We all picked up lee thinking we would get consistancy. I would hold on for a bit longer and then see what happens. I think Lee will be traded this year to another team that this could help him.

I would wait it out a bit more. The guy I see with comparable upside is Ramirez and he is struggling so not really worth it imo.
