Sizemore worth #2 WW spot? WHIR

Postby lyons595 » Mon May 31, 2010 10:24 am

I can stash him on my DL spot, so he doesn't cost me anyone. Our league is 14 teams, so the WW is typically really sparse. After spending 2 months at #2, I don't get the vibe that any stud is going to be available. Talk me out of it if you can. thanks!

ESPN, h2h, 14 team, 4 RP max, daily. Cats: avg, r, hr, rbi, sb; w, k, sv, era, whip. Non-keeper. I stream SP weekly.

Are all the prospects getting called up in June gone in your league....(Carlos Santana, Stanton, Flowers etc.) I would rather snag one of them with a WW grab than use it on Sizemore.

If all the top prospects are gone and your WW is as thin as you say then I guess it may be worth a gamble. However, at best Sizemore will be out 2 months. On a terrible Indian team I don't seem them rushing him back.....you may be burning your waiver wire on a guy who even if he plays again this year, may only be playing in a few meaningless September games.

In a keeper this screams yes go grab him but in a non keeper its not as easy a decision, still though Id grab him and stash.

How long til he clears waivers? If you think you can grab him as a free agent and stash him then it's a no brainer. I'm not sure I'd spend a #2 WW spot on him though considering he's gonna be out for quite a while. And being in a non-keeper league, even when he does come back I don't think he'll put up his typical numbers so I don't think it's worth it.
