An owner said that those pitchers are on the block for the right offer. I was thinking about offering Matt Holliday in a deal and wondering if I could end up getting both of them. Is Holliday and Scherzer a fair offer for Hanson and Johnson? Other players I could offer are Hamilton, Markakis and/or Beckett. Is that a realistic goal? I understand they are two great pitchers, but Holliday is a top OF as well. Or should I just try Hamilton and Scherzer for Hanson OR Johnson. Any help is appreciated... leave a link and I'll get to it ASAP.
it depends on your offensive/defensive needs. I'd be hesistant to move Holliday because he is an offensive stud, and I'm getting the impression you are devaluing him because of the slow start. If you need pitching, Holliday/Schezer should be enough to land JJ and Hanson.
My team is as follows (14 team roto keeper league):
C V. Martinez C Snyder 1B Fielder 2B J. Lopez 3B Zimmerman SS E. Aybar MI A. Gonzalez CI L. Scott (can play OF too) OF Holliday OF Heyward OF Hamilton OF Markakis OF Pierre Util H. Matsui Bench Beckham, Borbon, McLouth, Hardy
Pitchers (Start 9 each week): J. Santana, Beckett, Scherzer, Porcello, Silva, Sheets, Buerhle, Pavano, F. Cordero, Contreras, Bedard, M. Gonzalez
I think you have the depth there to move Holliday. I would then go about dropping or trading guys like Porcello, Bedard(who knows what he will be like when he returns), Pavano, Silva.
If I owned Hanson and Johnson, I would not do this trade for Holliday and Scherzer. Scherzer has been terrible this year (save for his 14k performance), and Holliday hasn't been outstanding this year; He is almost hitting .300, but only has 5 hr's and 19 rbi's.
I would do Johnson for Holliday straight up though.

I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to do Holliday for just one or the other pitcher straight up... if the other owner really won't accept the initial trade offer then is something like Hamilton for Johnson or Hanson (which one is liked better anyway?) a good offer?
Toughie....I think you're selling low on Holliday here to an extent. He's usually good for top-3 round production and I am not sure if either of these SPs are worth as much as him. Your pitching does stink though. Couldn't you offer Markakis and a bum-ish player for one of the two SPs instead? I'd just try to hold onto Holliday because he's going to start getting hot here pretty soon and I don't necessarily think your OF is as deep as other posters do. That and Scherzer may have stunk before, but he regained all the velocity on his fastball during his minors stint and might provide some great value from here on out.
