Cafe Please: Nelson Cruz for Joey Votto?....WHIR(100%)

K.Morales owner just offered me Nelson Cruz for Joey Votto. It's an interesting proposal, he's desperately hurting at 1b now, and my OF has been just plain terrible. Do i make the deal or should I counter?

UPDATE:
so i dropped Sizemore this morning for Scherzer, and not 15 minutes later the other owner informs me he would have done the Votto/Sizemore for Cruz/Lind.

so now he proposed:
give: votto + burnett
get: cruz + e.santana

i countered with
give: votto + burnett
get: cruz + johnson


he said NO, and went on to say that he values Cruz higher than Votto and if it wasn't for his needs there would be no way he'd would have offered Cruz for Votto straight up.

Cafe I desperately need you help in making this deal. I need a stud OF BAD.

you could counter offer and see if he would trade bruan? if not then i would definitely take cruz!!!! your OF is pretty weak and Cruz will add power as well as speed!!! please check out my question about which SS i should pick up of FA? thanks!

If he offered you the trade, maybe try a counter and try and improve somewhere else at the same time. Maybe if you included your Liriano you could snag his JJ or take a run at Braun.

I'd prefer Votto over Cruz, so I wouldn't do that 1 for 1.

I like both players but not 1 for 1. I would try and do something like

get - Tulo, Braun, Lind
give - Pujols, Cabrera

I think this is fair value for Pujols and you have Votto to move into 1B, Tulo is a huge upgrade at SS and Braun/Lind would definately improve your OF

i'm ok with dealing pujols, then i'd have Rollins and Tulo. It would be tough trying to deal rollins with his injury history

the other owner isn't an idiot either, so if i tried to counter i'd would like it to be somewhat respectable

thoughts on:

i get: Cruz + Lilly
(probably won't be accepted, but it would at the very least let him realize he won't get Votto for Cruz 1-for-1_

or

i give: Votto + Burnett
i get: Cruz + J.Johnson

or

i give: Pujols + Rollins + Burnett
i get: Tulo + Cruz + J.Johnson


thoughts on either of these ideas, or is Votto for Cruz a deal i should accept like is?

Yeah, I don't know that I'd do that deal straight up...he's probably pretty desperate at this point, so try to get a little bit more. Maybe try and get Johnson or Santana for one of your pitchers like Peavy as well....

I wouldn't do this deal straight up. Both players have their injury problems, but I like Votto more.

Your outfield needs the help. I agree I wouldn't do a one for one but I like doing something like Votto and Sizemore for Cruz and Adam Lind. That'd be a good deal for you.
