is this enought to let carpenter go?

I would do the deal. I know the pain of having Chipper at 3b and Bautista provides an immediate upgrade. Prince will also give you a solid offensive boost as the weather heats up, even more so if he's traded to a contender.

While your pitching isn't terribly deep, starters go on tears throughout the season and you just swap the hot hand.

I'd do this. Johan/Haren should be able to hold down the staff sans-Carp. Prince is a monster.

I think you can improve in an area other than 1B where you already have Pujols. And IMO I don't think your staff can handle the lose of Carp. I would look to improve either at SS or 3B (atleast at until Alvarez is called up to play 3rd)
