The Diamondbacks have had discussions with the Tigers about left-hander Dontrelle Willis, whom Detroit designated for assignment over the weekend.

The Diamondbacks are looking at Willis for their starting rotation and are considering trading for him. They likely wouldn’t give up more than a minor league prospect with the Tigers picking up most if not all of Willis’ $12 million salary.
