Drop Wieters for Posey?

Postby pasterofmuppets » Sat May 29, 2010 10:10 pm

Considering how Wieters has been doing this year, I probably wont be taking that big a chance. Or is Wieter's upside worth it. This is for a keeper league, but since we only get to keep 3 hitters, neither will ever be keeper material (my keepers are Cabrera, Longoria and Tulo)

I'd rather hang on to Wieters.

You don't have a better keeper than Tulo? Even going into next season, I'd keep Wieters over him.

Tulo's got some serious slow start issues, but so does Teixiera. He's a very credible 3rd hitter here (Tulo). Really, if Hanley isn't running so much and Tulo works his way through his time of the year issues (no sure thing, but LaRoche and Cano did), Tulo's not as far off as you'd think.

For me, though, in a keeper, I'd have to think you'd have someone who would see Wieters as a keeper, and so I'd try trading first even if you had to carry both catchers for a spell. Would that be possible?

Wieters for sure. Feel much more comfortable with him. Posey is a wildcard. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help guys. Somebody else grabbed Posey anyway. Since everybody pretty much agrees on me keeping Wieters I suppose i should ride him through thick and thin.

BTW, my next best keeper would've been Kinsler... then Ethier :*) Remember, we only get to keep three players... the only real viable catchers to keep were Mauer and VMart.

Injuries aside, I think you get a lot more from Kinsler at 2B than Tulo at SS.
