I've always thought it was THE most idiotic thing done in all of sport. It is just pathetic to see teams do this time after time after winning what 9 times out of 10 is a freaking meaningless game in the grand scheme of things. Game 7 of a Division series or WS yeah sure but the Pirates beating the Nationals on a walk off to go 52-96 on the season Just pathetic.

This guy here nailed it on the head exactly. It reminds me of the time the Bill Gramatica jumped around like a lunatic after kicking a meaningless field goal and tore his knee ligament, ENDING HIS CAREER.

He has a fractured leg and will have surgery tomorrow and is obviously now on the DL. What an idiot thankfully I just traded him in one of the two leagues I owned him in.

Don't know if I'd go that far as it's pretty much customary around the league to slam dance on home plate after a walk off. I guess you can call the tradition idiotic because it is a bit foolish and dangerous as proven here. I still feel bad for the guy as it is a pretty crazy way to get injured. I wonder how much it changes the walk-off celebrations league wide.
