ROTOWORLD Andrew Baggarly reported that the Giants are likely going to recall top prospect Buster Posey before Saturday's game. The report is unconfirmed, but this seems to be more than just reading the tea leaves. According to Baggarly, Posey has been playing first base in Triple-A and general manager Brian Sabean personally scouted Posey last week to see if he was ready. Baggarly speculates that if recalled, Posey would see the majority of his playing time at first base rather than behind the plate, though he could see an occasional start there as well. If true, this story means the first of the truly top class prospects will be coming to the majors, with players like Stephen Strasburg and Mike Stanton soon to follow. Posey is hitting .349/.442/.552 with six home runs and 32 RBI so far this season at Triple-A Fresno. Source: San Jose Mercury News
Posey has been called up by the Giants, ESPN's Buster Olney reports. Spin: This shouldn't come as a huge surprise since the Giants have been giving him a little bit of time at first base recently with Triple-A Fresno. Posey should start at least five games per week with the Giants, so be sure to take advantage of activating him if you've been holding him on your bench this season. [Breaking News] Sat, May 29
Why would you take weiners for him? What has Weiners ever done? except be way hyped about how incredible of a hitter he was and then completely poop the bed at the ML level. No thanks, I'd rather the unknown upside of buster hymen, weiners is boring.
