The Dodgers' Anemic Offense

Postby Ry-Guy » Wed Mar 24, 2004 4:21 pm

Am I the only one who wants to see the Dodgers go out and get a big-time hitter? Why have they not traded one of their starting pitchers? I thought Odalis Perez for either Konerko or Frank Thomas or Jay Gibbons would be a good deal. Has anyone heard any rumors of who else they may look to get? I think new GM Paul DePodesta really needs to make a big splash soon.

I would love to see the Dodgers get a hitter but come on, DePodesta has only been on the job 5 weeks and there hasn't been alot available. And LA is wasn't going to get Gibbons for Perez.

Well, DePodesta got hired AFTER all of the big-time FAs were gone and AFTER winter meetings. Or, he probably would've struck. I guess the market for Odalis isn't great this year. However, I think he'll do pretty well and if so, it'll raise his market value for a better trade. I'm hearing some Nomar to LA next year rumors...he'll make a splash soon enough.

By the way, is it time for Beltre to break out? He's still 25...

The Dodgers are a lost cause this season. As a fan, I would rather see them keep their young pitching instead of trading it away for a guy who will help them win 83 games instead of 80.

As an aside, have you guys checked out dodgerblues.com? Hilarious site.
