He's still on the wire in my 10 team league with relatively small benches. He was certainly amazing today, but I'd still temper my expectations going forward. The point made by a poster earlier re: 1 of his BBs and his hit batter coming right before he got yanked is duly noted, but I still believe his control problems are worrisome, as well as his propensity to try to K every batter. This will lead to him getting into trouble often, and trying to K his way out of it, which won't always be as easy as it was today, and further, it will lead to him not going very deep into games and hinder his ability to get Ws.
In any case, I am considering picking him up, but have a bit of a logjam right now at pitcher with Cain, Greinke, Kershaw, Liriano, Latos, Hamels, Marcum, and Ely. Offensively I would have to drop Rasmus or Laroche, and I don't want to do that as they are my best offensive bench players. The bottom line for me is I just don't think I need another starting pitcher, and I prefer all of the ones I have to Scherzer at this point due to the concerns I listed above.
A bit of a hijack, I know, and I know none of you care about my team, but I guess my point is that he isn't at this point a must add. Now, if he goes out and does this again a couple more times, things will be different.

I would probably do that. I imagine going forward they'll be similar players with Max providing far more K's. Once upon a time I was incredibly high on Slowey, but something has been off with him.
