Working to Acquire Pujols - WHIR *Updated Post 5

Postby Kimbos Beard » Fri May 28, 2010 10:09 am

I am trying to acquire Pujols and need the Cafe's help.

C- Doumit
1b- fielder
2b - Phillips
3b - Wright
ss - Aviles
OF - bay, markakis, cargo
Util - Pablo
Bench - Granderson DL - Beltran

SP - Wainwright, Cain, Billingsley, Marcum, Pelfrey, Zambrano, Latos
RP - Gregg, Aardsma, capps, Rauch

Originally I offered Fielder/Pelfrey/ Gregg for Pujols.....I havent heard back on that yet.
I am just a little lost. I only have one Utility, slot, so I will have to sit Pablo or Granderson every day. Should I package one of them with Fielder to upgrade to Pujols....or should I look to do something else entirely.

I would try to package Fielder with Markakis for Pujols.

I got him for Fielder and Jamie Garcia, depends what you see as your most disposable position, but I think his value is right around there...

Fielder/Markakis for Prince seems reasonable ... then you could play Granderson.

Yup. This is a pretty solid place to start IMO.

Okay so I left the Fielder/Pelfrey/Gregg deal out there and also offered him Fielder/Markakis.

We will see what happens.........

He rejected that offer

I upped the offer to: Fielder, Markakis, Gregg for Pujols. He needs saves and I was hoping if the trade was close enough adding a closer might help.

Thoughts? Should I just give up on this line of thinking and try something else?

The Fielder, Markakis, Gregg offer was pretty good. Maybe you could offer him Fielder, Granderson, and Gregg. Who knows, maybe he would value a guy like Granderson, now that he's back and hitting in that yankees lineup more than Markakis who is obviously on an offensively challenged team. Just a thought.
