Listening to Mark Shapiro, Indians GM, on the broadcast of Indians vs. Devil Rays on MLB.com:...

"Urbina has not picked a ball up since game 6 of the World Series last year....we did not feel that he would be ready until at least mid-May if we were to sign him....right now, it is nearly impossible for us to consider signing him".....(or something very close to resembling that)!!

Phew. I picked up Riske of the WW before the Urbina talk. Now all we have to do is hope the Indians do not decide to hand the job to Jiminez if Riske gets off to a slow start.

Nice, Indians don't need to spend the salaryt. It wasn't a TERRIBLE move but I would still rather them not do it (as an indians fan).

I 'm sure Urbina would be ready before mid may, this is why Cleveland wont win for awhile, i'm sure Urbina is working out and would be ready long before mid may, have fun with risk and jimenez. Cause you wil be behind the twins and royals and whitesox.

AAARGH!!! Can this winter get any worse? I have Aaron Boone in a keeper leage at $8 where FA's cost $10. I also have Uggie at $8. Keeper lists have to be in by Sunday and I don't know whether to put Urbina on it or not. I could use that $8 somewhere else if I don't. Any thoughts?

Cleveland would have been behind these guys anyways, and that money could be spend far better elsware. Having a great closer means nothing, look at Gagne. And urbina is not a great closer. They should take this money and put it into other players
