Weird offer, Podsednik for Peavy, WHIR!!

Postby mhuhn23 » Wed May 26, 2010 9:58 am

Im in a 12 Team H2H with the following cats scored. I was offered Peavy for Podsednik

AVG, R, HR, RBI, SBI, OPS, E, KO
ERA, WHIP, HRA, W, SV, K, K/BB

Here is my roster

C Russell Martin
1B Miguel Cabrera
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Edwin Encarnacion
SS Hanley Ramirez
OF Jacoby Ellsbury
OF Andrew McCutchen
OF Jason Heyward
OF Johnny Damon
UTIL Howie Kendrick
BN Juan Pierre
BN Scott Podsednik
BN Troy Glaus

SP Tim Lincecum
SP Josh Beckett
SP Tommy Hanson
SP Derek Holland
SP Clay Buchholz
SP Edwin Jackson
SP Ian Kennedy
SP Gio Gonzalez
RP Brian Fuentes
RP Joakim Soria
RP Kevin Gregg

I think this would be a decent offer for me since I am deep at OF, have a lot of speed, etc. Peavy makes me nervous but I think he'd be an upgrade at SP for me

What do you think? Ill help in return just leave a link!

I'd do it. In a vacuum it's a decent deal, and you don't need Podsednik with that OF.

no doubt--peavy's iffy thus far, but has borderline top-25 pitcher potential. podsednik is past his prime, liable to not hit as well as he is all season, and is a 3-cat player at best. additionally, you have juan pierre and podsednik on your bench, even though both are virtually the same in terms of what they add-i think theres no question this is a good deal, you essentially lose nothing because you dont need two speedy, run-producing OFs on your bench. peavy's ADP was around 100 (maybe has dropped slightly in value, but id take him for sure), podsednik's well above 200 so value-wise its a good deal too. id do it without a second thought.
