Help! Ethier and Granderson returning. WHIR

Postby hartmtown » Wed May 26, 2010 6:27 am

Looking for some general comments about my team. I've got Ethier and Granderson (who I've already activated) coming back, and currently not enough room to start them and the guys I've already got. I don't really want to bench anyone right now except the C that I don't play.

What trades should I pursue? Package Rios and Granderson for an ace pitcher so I can drop Marcum, Wilson, or Leake? Send Young off for a better 3rd closer? Can I trust Ortiz to produce from here on out? Any and all advice is welcome.

Standard Yahoo league, 5x5 h2h. Play two SP spots, 2 RP spots and 4 general pitcher spots.

C- Soto
1B- Gonzalez
2B- Utley
SS- Bartlett
3B- Zimmerman
OF - Crawford
OF- Rios
OF- Dunn (also 1b-elig)
Util- M. Young
Util- D. Ortiz
BN- Granderson
DL- Ethier

SP (2) - Haren, Lester, Verlander, Gallardo, Romero, Marcum, Buchholz, Wilson, Leake
RP (2) - Marmol, Capps, Ohman, Hoffman (BN), Street (DL), Gonzalez (DL)

Thanks for the comments. Any others?

I just dropped Hoffman and picked up Scherzer, who's dealing in AAA. If Ethier comes back real soon, I guess I'll drop Ohman, although he seems to be the new closer in Baltimore.

Still, though, with only 3 OF spots and 2 Util spots, I'm going to have to bench at least two of these players every day: Young, Dunn, Rios, Ortiz, Granderson. Part of me wants to deal some of that quantity for quality, but who to trade away?

as above, drop Hoffman, i wouldn't recommend Scherzer, even if he's dealing in AAA

i'd try to trade granderson or rios in package with a SP for an upgrade at SP (Romero/Marcum)

please help
