Yahoo 5x5 cats, 10 teams, keeper. For some reason, I've been deluged with these blockbuster trade offers recently. I'm far and away in first place though, so I don't really feel an urgent need to shake up my roster, but I'm just looking for other opinions. One owner offered me Roberts/D. Lee/Lind for Cano/Hawpe, which on the surface actually looks good to me, but I'm just worried about Roberts' prolonged injury and whether he'll be effective if/when he comes back. Another owner offered me Tulo/Sandoval/Marcum for H-Ram, which also looked decent. Thoughts?
My roster for reference: C: Soto 1B: Reynolds 2B: Phillips 3B: Figgins SS: H-Ram CI: Berkman MI: Cano OF: Kemp, Crawford, Young, Quentin, Hawpe Util: Konerko BN: A. Jones DL: Sizemore
SP: J. Santana, Jimenez, Hamels, Billingsley, Slowey, E. Santana, Pelfrey, Niemann, Hudson RP: Marmol, Valverde, Gregg
Both make sense, and Andruw's a ready made dropper (And some would say Adam, too, if I've got the wrong OF A. Jones), but unless Roberts were fully healthy now, the first couldn't even be considered.
Ironically, it's the second I like better. Marcum's not a primary target here, but he's better than Niemann. Sandoval pushes Figgins to the pine, a valuable place for him with his eligibilities all over the place, and A. Jones to the curb.
And Tulo might be far closer to equalling Hanley than we'd ever thought. The differences (lack of slow starts and additional speed from Hanley) are getting fewer and less pronounced every season now.
The only reason why I pause here is that neither Tulo nor Sandoval are really lighting it up themselves, and with them, Berkman, Slowey, Quentin, Sizemore, etc., that's a lot of slumpage for one team.
I'm leaning yes, but it's very close, and the tally of later posts in this thread matters.
