Was Offered Carmona for Floyd -- Stand Pat?

Postby sigriffey » Tue May 25, 2010 12:36 pm

I was offered Fausto Carmona for my Gavin Floyd, whom I just got off the wire.

Do I stand pat? I don't trust the Tribe offense or Carmona entirely...

Stand pat.

The rest might be blah blah blah, but it's intended on a why if the quick answer doesn't suffice.

Floyd may or may not get himself back on track, but I think we know how combustable Carmona really can be.

For me, I don't make a guy perform for as many games as he had previously been bad before I will take him, but in this case, I come close. Carmona was so bad for so long, and the effects of even one of his putrid starts on a fantasy team would be so stinky (even with 1200 IP on the year in roto, not to mention the all but guaranteed loss in a H2H league) that I kid you not, I'm not owning him this year even if he's on waivers or a FA. This isn't giving a Bautista a quick run with the downside being an 0 for 4 and some days on your bench, IOW.
