Scientists estimate the planet, WASP-12b, has just ten million years left before it is completely devoured by its Sun-like star.

That seems too long to be right :-b
I'm not saying a planet would be insta-dust like the movies, but 10 million years?

People get on JT for posting old stories, but this one is like ten million years old.

The orbital period of that planet is 24 hours. That is wicked fast.

How come no articles show Hubble's image? I'd like to see the actual pics.

It's on the front page of Yahoo! today.....guess I'm not really going to go hunting to make sure I don't step on anybody's toes as far as when the story originally came out. Plus the original story is like a year old, not ten million.

Yeah me too, artists renderings are cool and whatnot, but I'd like to see the real deal. :,-(

I'm pretty sure what knapp meant was the story of the planets demise began ten million years ago.

From what I understand, the image in the article was actually taken by Hubble.
