Quick Help PLEASE WHIR 100%

Postby thebawler » Mon May 24, 2010 6:03 pm

Hey guys, I have 3 pitchers with 2 spots this week.

Edwin Jackson @ SF
Ben Sheets @ Det
Andy Pettite @ Min

Heres the scoring

Earned Runs (ER) -1.5 Wins (W) 8
Losses (L) -4 Saves (SV) 8
Blown Saves (BS) -4 Strikeouts (K) 2.5
Walks Issued (BB) -1 Shutouts (SO) 3
Hit Batsmen (HB) -1 Holds (HD) 3
Complete Games (CG) 3 Quality Starts (QS) 2
No Hitters (NH) 10

I'm leaning toward Jackson and Sheets becuase I get 2.5 pts per K

Definitely risky though I know, so who would you start and why?

I think Jackson's matchup vs San Francisco is the most favorable. His penchant for wildness concerns me, but he's walked 2 batters in his last 5 innings while striking out 21, and he's the hottest hand of the pitchers you listed.

I could go either way on your 2nd starter. Minnesota has better team stats offensively, but somehow I see them as an easier matchup than Detroit. I think Pettitte is the less risky proposition, as I think he's less likely to have a horrible start than Sheets, but he doesn't have the same potential for a great start. If I forced to pick one, I'd go with Sheets because he's on the road at a big Detroit stadium.
