Who are the best Middle Relievers?

Postby kaiser » Mon May 24, 2010 9:51 am

I'm in a 10-team H2H, and while I have a winning record, I am constantly at the bottom of the standings in WHIP and ERA. Would like to add one or two middle relievers to eat some innings and give me some help in this area, but I am pretty uninformed right now with MR, since my league does not use holds as a category.

Could someone give me some advice on quality, dependable MR that I should look at?

There's a lot of useful MRs out there.

Tyler Clippard
Sean Marshall
Evan Meek
Luke Gregerson
Hisanori Takahashi

Just throwing some names out - but these guys are striking out batters and getting Ws. I would go with Clippard.

i own clippard and marshall for the exact same reasons you gave. Pitch em every week and have picked up 10 wins with good k/9. Clippard walks some people and is overworked. If I had to choose one, it's marshall. Cubs plate around 4 runs a game and Marshall is now their 8th inning guy. Which means he will be in the mix late in close games. I expect 10-12 wins from him as a MR.
