Bench A.Rod and Gardner TONIGHT and play it safe? Sunday

Postby woodson_28 » Sun May 23, 2010 7:01 pm

I have 2 players going tonight, A. Rod and Gardner. My opponent is completely done, and I'm up in batting 5-2 (out of 7 categories). I hate to be the guy to bench players to preserve a win, but should I?

Going into tonight:

Runs: 43-42 (me)
Hits: 68-73 (opp)
HR: 10-4 (me)
RBI: 29-28 (me)
AVG: .313 - .309 (me)
OPS: 0.942 - 0.817 (me)
SB: 5-12 (opp)

I'm winning 5 out of the 7. Only category I could catch up in is Hits, but I'd need 5 (just to tie), and I risk losing AVG if I go for it. What would you do? Play it safe? It's not like it's the post-season.

Thanks.
