I've actually got Myers on one of my teams, but I'd trade him for Milton if I could. His era/whip last year bothers me. 4.43 era and 1.46 whip. Not exactly the kind of guy I like to bank on. I think Milton will put up those numbers if he stinks the place up but should come in under those without much problem. I expect Myers to improve some this year, but how much is the big question.

I'm not big on exact projections, but I see the two as this way:

Wins---push
K's----Myers
Era---Milton
Whip--Milton

The only one I would consider there is John THomson, but probably wouldn't pull the trigger. And I probably rate him a lot higher than most folks, so I think you're good standing pat for a while.

What is wrong with Perez. Last yeqar he had an off year granted but prior to that he was a top 20 pitcher. Have you seen the spring he has had. He may be back.

Perez

Postby Ridgerunner » Wed Mar 24, 2004 5:59 pm

Odalis Perez got drafted in round 14
Oliver Perez is still available.
I think you were confused.

Oliver Perez could be a huge sleeper in the K category this year.........200+??? if he ptches 175 innings!!!!

Thanks for the clarification. I was confused. Since I had the wrong Perez, I would go with Milton. He will be pitching further down the rotation and if nothing else that will help with his win total.

I like Milton and probably would go that way, but I think if you're expecting a big year from him (or similar to the way he finished last year) you'll be disappointed.

One name I didn't see on the list but is often going undrafted is Jeremy Affeldt. If his blister problems are through (and he's had no problems since getting half his fingernail removed) he'll have a pretty good season and would be a great WW pickup. He's been my late round sleeper choice this year.
