there was a thread a day ago about who the best middle relievers were. the list included guys with save opp potential, era/whip/etc, and holds. i was wondering what your guys's opinions were for strictly holds guys. valverde was mentioned as one of the best middle relievers in the other thread, but is he going to be a good holds guy? i dont even know if he is the setup man for zona. i like his numbers regardless though. i know hawkins and donnelly are up there. any other suggestions, opinions?
i had riske slated as a holds guy to wickman, but now that riske will be closing he's not valuable to me in holds. i see alot of people here would take herges over riske anyways. should i try to trade/drop riske to pick up valverde considering herges is still out on waivers?
thanks, much appreciated.

All three of those guys are up in the air a bit between setup and closing possibilities.
Watch Cleveland's negotiations with Urbina; if they sign him then Riske is your holds guy. Nen's shoulder is acting up again (still), making Herges the likely closer option, at least short-term. Valverde would be my pick ... he could slide into closing if/when Mantei gets hurt/dealt, but his stuff is filthy either way.

In case you missed it, Beck is out indefinitely.
Worrell should be on this list.

Nota has also been out with tendinitis. Not sure how serious it is, but he has not ptiched in a week or more. (I think was scheduled to pitch today?)
There are probably a few others I woul dlist, but my list isn't here at work and my brain is fried.
