It wasnt too long ago that this guy was a perrennial 20 homer, 100 RBI, 30 steal guy on the fast track to the hall. Then he got shipped to the Mets and died.
Now hes back in the NL in AZ, any chance he gets back to his old form?
I say he shows signs of life but only to a moderate degree. I'm betting he ends up just like his 1998 numbers except with less steals. Not so bad for an MI, or even a placeholder 2B.
He is moving to a hitter's park and as long as his back holds out he will put up better numbers than last yearbut at age 36 ya ain't gonna see the Robby of old, just solid but not great stats.
Still holds the MLB record for Grand Slams with 23
about anyone who thinks alomar is going to have a decent year is pretty much going on gut feeling or maybe it is wishful thinking. i think he is better than his numbers at New York, i mean who doesn't go to the Mets and bomb he is a career .300 avg despite the past two seasons and from all reports he at least appears to WANT to play for arizona. anyway i wouldn't be surprised if he went .285/70/15/60/12. question is how much or is he going to split with kata?
He will be alright at the plate and obviously in the field, but he wont be takin many bags from pitchers at 36. He will probably have a respectable year, as most AZ players do, just nothing fantastic.
