What's wrong with my team? make moves? WHIR

Postby dubstar » Thu May 20, 2010 10:06 pm

My team started off the first 3 weeks on fire, and has been terrible since. Are they just slumping, or were they over performing the first few weeks? My hitting and pitching has been really weak lately. Sorry for so many, questions. I just feel like I could use an overhaul.

Just traded Sizemore for Billingsley. Should I try to move one of my other pitchers for a hitter?

Drop Soto for Barajas, Olivo, Snyder?

Drop Stanton, Gardner or Bourn for Ordonez, JD Drew, Ortiz, Scott?

Drop a pitcher for Sauders, Kennedy, A Sanchez, Peneiro, Ely, Livan Hernandez, Vargas?

10 team h2h keeper: avg., hr, rbi, r, sb, xbh
era, w, sv, k, whip, qs

C Soto
1B Fielder
2B Pedroia
3B Sandoval
SS Drew
OF Kemp, Cruz, Bourn
UTIL D Lee
BN Stanton, Gardner

SP Greinke, Kershaw, Baker, Romero, Liriano, Matusz
RP Soria, Cordero, Gregg

rop Baker for Livan Hernandez (he has been very solid lately)
Drop Stanton for Ortiz (think you mean Big Papi if so then yes)
Stick with Soto

NO dont drop Stanton or Baker. ITS A KEEPER. KEEP STANTON.

I'd drop gardener for Ortiz, thats it. Since its Head to head, play Bourn when youre down in steals, and play Papi against righties when youre down in power. Thats the only move id make

My rundown:
Keep soto, grab ordonez, with coghlan and maybin hitting again it might be some time before stanton is actually relevant, but you play in a keeper so take that as you will. I'm not that high in matusz I think he's gonna have a hard time getting wins case of the spastic bullpen and sporadic lineup of the O's. I really like Ely (especially with that RP ellig) and Kennedy is looking more and more like a hot commodity. I'd say grab Ely, his K rates are awesome and his control is only going to improve. I'd keep baker for, at worst case, next year, and I might consider Papi, but as a Sox fan i dont trust the guy as far as I can throw him.

Those are my thoughts
Any idea what you'd do in my situation?

Unless its like a 10 + man keeper league Stanton isn't a keeper yet in my book;
1B Fielder
2B Pedroia
3B Sandoval
SS Drew
OF Kemp, Cruz,
SP Greinke, Kershaw,Romero,

Those are your top 9 keeper spots, and if there are more than that I would keep Matusz, Soria, Liriano, before Stanton. Stanton is down in the minors and who knows when he will brought back up, and Baker hasn't been too hot. Unless this is a really deep keeper league, and judging by roster size it isn't I would make the moves in my previous post.

Just to clarify, we only keep 4. MAybe 5 going into next year. So yea Stanton would not be a keeper.
