Is Derek Holland a good pitcher to add. I have been researching a replacement for the injured Beckett, who has also done very poorly overall, points-wise. I have been looking into adding a young prospect or someone who is capable of breaking out/putting up good numbers. I read in a few places that some people have ranked Holland above or close to Strasburg (currently taken). Any other suggestions would help. If needed i'll post some FA's who are available. I'm in a 8 team H2H league. My pitching rotation is currently: Lincecum, Jimenez, Hamels, Billingsley, Liriano, Beckett.

Just as a heads up, im in a H2H POINTS league, idk if that changes anyones opinions or anything but I'm looking for consistant players who will put up good points. I'd also like to hang on to these players for long term.

While I think Holland is going to be a solid pitcher, he isn't at Strasburg's level and I would think that in an 8-team league there must be better options available. If you do select him you will have to take note of his home/road splits from last season. He gave up a lot of HR's at home last season and yielded 2 more in his last start. I like him a lot but not enough to speculate on him except as a spot starter in a weekly H2H league where the matchup was right.

I picked up D.Holland 10 days ago. Jury is still out.
He was a highly rated prospect in the Rangers' system...and in baseball.
3 Positives for me...
1. I am in a Keeper League, and he is young. Never know...he could flame out his next couple of starts...or throw darts. Potential is there for solid Strikeout numbers.
2. He plays for the Rangers. The Ranger have 1 of the top 5 offenses in baseball. So...he will get run-support. Should get Wins.
3. He has good stuff. I don't think we've seen his best yet.
BTW- On a sidenote...I've had the # Waiver in my League for the past 3 weeks and am holding onto it for M.Stanton. Should be called up in June. I am so stoked! He will be 1 of my 5 Keepers.

I've decided to drop Carlos Pena and add the extra pitcher, in this case Holland. My lineup is now: Lincecum, Jimenez, Hamels, Liriano, Billingsley, Leake, Holland. How am I 1-5??
