Buchholz worth #1 waiver? - WHIR

Postby soty » Thu May 20, 2010 3:36 pm

I have decided I am going to drop Smoak for him, but do I take the chance that clears or use the #1 waiver for him? I have plenty of offensive issues that I could potentially use that waiver for down the line, but Buchholz may not clear. This is an 12 team, 8 man keeper. The rest of my team and settings are below. Leave a link and I will help you guaranteed. ;-D

That is a little bit of a tough question. I think he is worth it in most leagues, but it depends on your league. If you have any owners who will drop someone real good I wouldn't, but in most leagues I would use it. for example in my keeper league there is an owner with no patience and is almost a lock to drop a star, Ethier last year, Berkman this season. But I would do it most likely

I have never really seen a big drop like Berkman before. Sometimes at the end of the year a guy or two will drop a player that can help a little, but is not out of this world. Basically in the past the #1 waiver has been used mainly for prospects that get called up and are not in the Yahoo database yet. I have had it once and used it on Gallardo when he got called up.

I would use it on him for sure. He is only going to get better and soon that Boston team will turn it around and start putting up some runs.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Isn't that a common phrase? :^
