Keeper: Get Heyward/Posey for Strasburg/C. Santana? WHIR!!

I'm in a 12-team H2H points league where we keep 6 players, no limit to how long you can keep players.

I was offered Heyward and Posey for Strasburg and Carlos Santana. I'm 1-6 due to a high Points Against, and I'm kinda focusing on the future...especially the long-term future, hence my focus on Heyward.

Scoring System:

BB, TB, R, RBI, SB = 1
HR = 2
Caught Stealing, K = -1

IP = 2
K = 1
BB, Hit Allowed = -1
ER, HR Allowed = -2
W, SV = 10
Shutout = 7
No Hitter, Perfect Game, Quality Start = 5
L, Blown Save = -5

My team:

C: Ruiz
1B: Fielder ;-D
2B: Kinsler ;-D
SS: Hanley ;-D
3B: A-Rod ;-D
MI: Jeter
CI: Konerko
OF: Markakis
OF: Rios
OF: Hunter
OF: G. Jones
OF: Reimold
UTIL: Beltre
UTIL: Kotchman
BN: Carlos Santana, B. Wallace

SP: Liriano ;-D (should I keep him over Markakis and/or Jeter?)
SP: Strasburg ;-D
SP: Nolasco, Harang, Wandy
RP: Qualls, Simon, Contreras
BN: Matusz, Kuroda, E. Santana, Villanueva

Pitchers can get really lit up in this format with -1 for H,BB and -2 for ER, so it's kind of nice to have a frontline SP. On the other hand, I have always been a bats first, pitching second type guy, and with Heyward looking like Pujols in the K/BB department, he could be huge in a league with 1 for BB and -1 for K. I would not keep Posey over Liriano/Markakis/Jeter for my last keeper; I'd use him to upgrade one of my other keepers.

Thanks in advance for your help, and make sure to post a link so I can help you out!

Thanks for the help!
It's always fun to try and predict what rookies are going to do. With Santana and Posey yet to be called up, I think we can call those two a wash. So it's really Strasburg for Heyward. My gut says to go with Heyward, we know what he can do and he's for real. I'm with you on hitting before pitching as it's usually more consistent. I'd take the Heyward side.
C - B. McCann, Santana
1B - Teixeira, Dunn (OF),
2B - B. Phillips
3B - Reynolds (1B), M. Young,
SS - Jeter,
OF - Braun, Quentin, C. Young
SP - Webb, Burnett, Shields, Hudson, Pelfrey, Hughes, Morrow, E. Jackson, B. Myers
RP - Lidge, Qualls, Rauch

I'm with you on the hitting before pitching thing, so I'd agree to go for Heyward. As much as I like Strasburg, I think you'll get more value out of Heyward and while Santana will probably get called up before Posey and make a more immediate impact, I think Posey will be better in the long run.

Thanks for your help with mine. That was a huge help.

I would go with the Heyward side. I heard Hank Aaron was raving about Hayward being a superstar. Heyward is the best player in the deal and is more polished than the other 3. I do love Strasburg but he has not done it yet at the major league level. Get Heyward in my opinion. From what you told me you seem to like offense better and you get an offensive stud in Heyward. Warning: It is possible that with his stuff Strasburg will be an elite pitcher. So this is a huge gamble. But Heyward has already proven himself in is worth the gamble.

Nice move on your part. I always take hitting over pitching so that would have been my choice as well. ;-D

Definitely go for Heyward, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Braves fan ;)
