Wieters, Bruce trade..

Postby T Long » Wed May 19, 2010 1:59 pm

I was offered Matt Wieters and Adam Jones for CJ Wilson and Jay Bruce
Should I take this trade??

nonkeeper league

C. Ivan Rodrigez
1B. Mark Teixiera
2B. Chase Utley
SS. Hanley Rameriz
3B. David Wright
LF. Carlos Lee
CF. BJ Upton
RF. Jay Bruce
OF. Alfonso Soriano
Util. Jose Baustista
Util. Lance Berkman
Bench: Aaron Hill, Chone Figgins, Ethier (DL)

SP. Yovani Gallardo
SP. Cole Hamels
SP. Matt Cain
RP. Chad Qualls
RP. Matt Capps
P. CJ Wilson
Bench: Roy Oswalt, Tim Hudson, Kevin Slowey, Shaun Marcum, Ricky Romero, Clay Buchholz

I would then pick up Garret Jones and platoon him and Jose Bautista at RF until Ethier gets back, or should I try and see if he wants some one other than Burce, maybe Soriano??

I would do this deal, you get the best young Catcher in baseball right now. Plus if you can still grab Garrett Jones - how he isn't already taken is beyond me.

I am split on this trade. I like Wieters and Bruce but they seem to be still figuring things out and as this isn't a keeper, you can't exactly wait it out with them. You are giving up the two players who have shown something this year with Wilson being the best. Wieters and Jones have a lot of talent but play on a bad team and haven't shown a lot this year. So I think it comes down to whether you think Wieters and Jones will turn things around. I would probably say stay put even though I think that Wieters will figure things out and could be the best player in the deal. But that is a big if.
