only do it if you're willing to throw saves...i think cruz's stats will be better than jeters though... and you dont really have anyone to replace cruz with

No thats way too much IMO. I think you can get a stellar SS for just shopping one of those guys.

Any chance you can do the deal without giving up a closer? If you trade Rauch you are basically punting saves. If you can get it done with a different pitcher, I would do it. Aybar isn't a SS you really want to go with, especially in a 10 team league. Basically no with Rauch, but try to counter wiith a different pitcher.

I told him no on the Rauch deal, and hinted that I might do a one-for-one with Cruz for Jeter. If he offers it, should I take it?

I definately would. It will be much easier to fill a need at OF (until Grandy is back), then find a replacement SS. ;-D

I completely agree, see if anyone's willing to sell andrus as I can see him only getting better and better from here on out as leadoff in a potent winning lineup. Dont punt saves, its a bad move, who knows you might even get more than just a SS with cruz, as he's an unbelievable hitter. I think jeter for cruz might even be semi even straight up as jeter is actually hitting for higher rates this year. Dont overpay. good luck!

See what you think of mine, I updated it in my post at the bottom of the thread, check that and try to give me some input.

He's offered:

I give Cruz and Kerry Wood.

I get Derek Jeter.

Thoughts?

I think Cruz's stats will be better than Jeters at year end and you're throwing in a closer too??? I'd say Cruz for Jeter straight. Plus you can't afford to lose a closer.

i would normally be ok with parting with wood, but i personally feel that Cruz has more than enough value to land jeter, alone. losing wood, though not a big lose, would pretty much force you into punting saves. i generally don't advise punting any cat. say no deal unless you can get him to throw in an extra player, maybe a setup man....then you could beef up the holds and get lucky once in awhile with Rauch.
