Leake has great upside and im very high on him this year. i feel slowey is performing very "slowly" and will be outperformed by the young rookie. HELP me with a similair question? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=412267
I would just sit still with the hitters you mentioned - I don't know who you would be willing to drop. As for Leake and Chacin, I would go with Leake. Leake has gone at least 6 innings in all of his starts so you can expect quality starts from him. He is very young but has been pitching really well.
Leake and Chacin are kind of a toss up. Leake's been helped by a .245 BABIP and .77 HR/9. I expect both of those numbers to climb as the summer heats up. Chacin is a similar story as hitters have only a .223 BABIP against him. He is striking out 8.41 batters per 9 though, so he has a FIP of 3.54, compared to Leake's 4.08.
Pretty even. I think I may give the edge to Chacin based on the lousy NL West lineups that he gets to face.
As for hitters, since you're playing H2H, I might dump Desmond for Scott if you need some power numbers this week. Scott is on a tear right now. If you're bullish on Desmond - I think he'll be better next year, I'd hold on the hitters.
Chacin may not have a spot when DeLaRosa, keep an eye on how that plays out.Freese and K Johnson look to me to be coming back down. Scott should be played against every rhp he faces right now.LeBlanc is a must start every home game. With so many good choices available I'd just play matchups all the time, kind of keep a couple spots switching every week.
2nd Q: Hart and Scott have a pretty good chance of being better than desmond, so monitor them this week. 1st Q: I completely agree with the previous poster, I'd say chaucin except for the fact that he's extremely young and derosa is the proven player and coming back. One mediocre start by Chaucy could get him uberdemoted. Chaucin's K rate is a little better than Leake's but I think thats just Leake's epic adjustment to the majors from practically tee ball. He'll get there, I took a chance on leake over chaucin and i dont regret it. Unless you want to use Chaucin in your RP spot, in that case, hit him up.
See what you think of mine, theres a post at the bottom of the thread where I updated the situation, any advice? viewtopic.php?t=412151
C: Posey 1B: Votto 2B Zobrist 3B: Miggy Cabrera SS: Tulo OF Chris Davis, Martin Prado, Alex Rios U: Konerko/Hunter SP: Lester, Peavy, Dempster, Kuroda, Matt Moore (Reserve: Beckett, Cahill, Lincecum, Hudson) RP: Putz, R Soriano
I'd definitely add Leake over Slowey right now. The potential for Leake is much higher IMO, although i've personally never been high on Slowey either way. Keep the hitters you have.
