If the Mets (insert your favorite team here) are having an exciting/competitive/good season, then I will most definitely follow them a little closer than my fantasy team. However, if they are having a lousy season, I am not going to waste my time watching 80-120 games for a team who has no hopes of going anywhere. If the Mets are out of contention and my fantasy teams are in contention, I will follow them a little closer down the stretch.

No. The A's are far more interesting. Especially this year where they are sort of/nearly contending, are "allegedly" going to be moved, and have two dynamite hitting prospects about to debut.

Tigers say they aren't contending.
It's not hard to run through a line up that has this guy as DH .....

When I first started out, I paid a little more attention to the fantasy team than I did with the Dodgers. As I had taken on more leagues and as time wore on, I was more interested in the Dodgers playing well than my fantasy teams prospering.

How many years have you played?
8 years. 9, if you included the first time I didn't take fantasy baseball so seriously (2001), which I don't count at all, seeing how I just set and forgot it after April.
Thanks guys! I truthfully appreciate your help with this research. I am nearly done with data collection, I need about 15 or so more respondents. Once I am done with that, I will post a link here with the results. Once I have completed the paper, which will take about 3 or 4 months, I will post that here as well.
