So DeRosa is probably going to have to have a re-do of his wrist surgery (he sounds pretty pissed about it).
SF supposedly announced that John Bowker will be the full-time option in LF, and yet Andres Torres has had pretty much every start since DeRosa went on the shelf, and is fielding and hitting out of his mind.
Torres is f-a-s-t FAST (20! triples in 2007), and could be a stealth short-term speed add. Bowker looks like he's getting the Fred Lewis treatment from the Giants, at least at the moment.
This could all change if the Giants make Posey play 1B and Huff play LF, but how serious are they about that really?

May 26 RF Andres Torres, the Giants' new leadoff hitter (he took over for CF Aaron Rowand), collected three hits, including a double. Manager Bruce Bochy said Torres would remain at leadoff for the time being, hoping the offense finally will come alive. Unlike most Giants, Torres isn't struggling in May. He's hitting .328 in the month and nine runs and four steals in 20 games.
Potentially 20-30 SBs for free? Yes please.

Last night they did Huff in LF Uribe at 3rd and Sandoval at 1st and Torres at RF. It will be more interesting when Schierholtz comes back from injury. But Renteria is injured again so its back to normal and Torres will get his bats. I've picked him up in a league or two

While 2,400,000,000,000,000,000 triples sounds impressive, it was a hitters' league. Call me when he hits the mole mark.
