Just offered MY Sandoval and Kershaw for HIS Ellsbury WHIR!!

Postby JaysFan » Mon May 17, 2010 8:40 am

I really need speed but this seems like a bit of a high price to pay. I am in 11th out of 12 in this H2H league with a million categories (see roster notes below) and my only real source of speed is Carl Crawford. The owner I'm trying to deal with is in first and already has Gardner and Rios for sb. HE HAS ALREADY TURNED DOWN KERSHAW AND CARLOS LEE FOR ELLSBURY, AND JUST COUNTERED WITH SANDOVAL AND KERSHAW FOR ELLSBURY.

Do I accept? OR, do I counter??? WHAT COUNTER SHOULD I OFFER??? I PROMISE I WILL HELP ANYONE WITH THEIR QUESTION OF THEY HELP ME!!!

Here's his team and then mine is below with league settings:

That deal sucks for you. I understand you need speed, but you're selling Panda based on his early struggles, and throwing in a nice young pitcher.

I'm go after some other speed from another team. Asking price is too high

Bad trade for you. Giving up way too much for a speed guy who is coming off an injury. Hold on to Pablo and let him heat up if you want to trade him. Hopefully Sanchez comes back and can provide a little life to the offense in front of Pablo.

I don't think you can do this. It's definitely too much and the big problem would be that you would be left with a gaping hole at 3B once you made the trade. If you're situation was a little better and you had a better option to plug in at 3B besides Beckham then I might consider it if you really wanted Ellsbury that bad, however, you cannot afford to give up this much for Ellsbury. I agree with the other poster, I'd look for SBs elsewhere. Maybe try to get someone who won't cost as much like a Pierre, Gardner or even Podsednik.

KB is right. You're trading for an Ellsbury who is coming off an injury. There's every chance he'll be activated before being able to steal like you're used to Ellsbury stealing.

If you haven't hit the 'Reject' button yet, please do so now. Find another owner with some speed that would be willing to do a fair trade.

It might be an even trade if it was Ellsbury for Sandoval, with Jacoby being on the DL. But it isn't. I'd decline this deal. No way I'd give up Both Kershaw and Pablo for Ellsbury.

On a sidenote, Jacboy is in AAA rehab right now playing my Syracuse Chiefs. But who knows if he will utilize all his speed coming back from broken ribs.
