Do this trade?

5x5 roto keeper league

I was offered McCutchen ($5 for one more year)

for

BJ Upton ($22 for 2 more years) and Wade Davis ($5 for 2 more years).

I thought Upton would be good for around 15 hr and 40 sb but his avg seems to really want to stick around the .220 - .250 mark and he just doesn't seem to be making the strides I thought he would. Davis is very serviceable but I don't necessarily see him becoming anything more than a #3 type SP in the next couple of years.

McCutchen meanwhile I believe can put up Upton numbers right now with a much higher AVG and could very well be Matt Kemp next year minus some R and RBI probably.

Anyhow, am I devaluing UPton too much or is this an offer I should feel OK about taking? I can pickup a guy like Olsen or Medlen to replace Davis by the way.

McC and Upton are about the same in terms of power numbers. McC will always have a better AVG., but not as high as right now. Upton will give you more steals. IMO, AVG is harder to find than SB. So, McC gets the nod.
Davis is a guy who should get you: 4.00ish ERA, 1.3 WHIP, 13 wins and 7.5 k/9. That's pretty good for a #3 start, like you said. But remember he's only 24 years old an could get a lot better in a year or 2.
When you add it up, the deal is pretty fair. But you get to keep a guy for $5 who is worth about $20. I'd take it. You can always fill in a SP or 2 off the WW.

Who would replace Davis in your rotation? see if you can get a high priced SP off him that is in last year of contract to even it up a bit. Or replace Davis with another SP, IMO you are giving up too much with the potential in Davis becoming a stud #1
