in 11th place SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE!!! WHIR!!!! Please Help

Postby JaysFan » Sat May 15, 2010 4:22 pm

I look at my team and really like it yet in this H2H league with a million categories (see below) I'm in 11th place out of 12. My SP is obviously a strength and I definitely have enough power. I THINK (and correct me if I'm wrong) I need some SB and RUNS guys.

The issue is, I don't know who to trade and what TYPE of player to go after. I'm not going to go posting all sorts of possibilities but what I'm looking for from you all is, for example: "why don't you offer up a guy like xxxxxx for a yyyyyyy type of guy?"

For sure you need some speed. You have so many big power hitters why not trade a Konerko (Who will probably fall off) for a speedier guy. I'm honestly not a fan of the league set up with all those categories. Kinda makes it a crap shoot to win, especially with it being H2H to begin with. My advice is don't do this league next year or at least get the commish to alter his scoring. You could very well have to best team and still lose, so don't feel so bad.

Nice pitching btw.

too many cats ... no way to prepare yourself each week. looks FA might be pretty shallow given 12 teams and big rosters, so you couldn't really play the match up either.

wish i would help more but i wouldn't even now where to begin with all those categories

I would target Ellsbury while he is still on the DL. It is a bit of a risk, but he could easily come off the DL and produce solid numbers from here on out. When making the move mention to the other owner how long his ribs have taken and how it may hinder his ability to steal bases, might make him more likely to trade him.

Thanks for the help on mine, man. Im having trouble digesting all of those categories that your playing with but I definitely give a +1 to the above poster. I think Ellsbury is a good target right now that u should be able to snag for a good price considering he is DL. His ribs have taken a while to heal tho so hopefully his return will end up being sooner than later. Keep that in mind when making an offer.

For starts, Peralta isn't doing too great this season. Maybe Juan Pierre or Podsednik are still available, they could definitely help you out in the SB department. Polanco would be a good alternative to Hill, I see Hudson is getting a ton of runs too.

If you are in a league where you can add and drop players as you want, I would look at free agents first.

Otherwise, maybe trade C. Lee alone or w/ someone else for a guy like Andrus or Gardner, 2 players who are getting runs and SBs.

Hope i helped somewhat.

If you could comment on my team, it would be deeply appreciated:

I agree. Ellsbury is a good buy low candidate....The team that might have him might be willing to deal.

Thoughts?
