Sell high on Ethier....for J. Upton?

Postby twistedude » Sat May 15, 2010 10:48 am

Wondering if I should sell high on the #1 player in fantasy baseball right now: Andre Ethier. Would you deal him for a slumping Justin Upton in a standard 12 team mixed league?

I hate Ethier and love J. Up and I would be very hesitant to make this deal. Ethier is legit and will end up putting up huge numbers this year. I don't think Upton will match him THIS year.

If you do this I will come to your house and slap you in the face.

What you want to do with Ethier is HOLD ON AND ENJOY THE RIDE.

Side note: Have you watched his swing? It's a thing of beauty, so silky smooth.

If you're hoping for last year's Justin Upton and you think he'll return to that form at some point this season, then go for it. I don't know if it'll happen. Ethier is a better bet from what we've seen so far this season.

Man, I don't even know....where to start.

last year's Upton didn't put up numbers like this year's Ethier will. That's assuming J-up turns it around this season. Meanwhile, Ethier has been mashing all year long. Do the math. There are difficult decisions in life, this isn't one of them.

Um, read what I wrote. I did say Ethier is a better bet. If Justin Upton finds that groove he was in last year at some point this season, he's a good bet going forward too. Ethier is super right now but you can't honestly expect him to keep this pace up all year. You're predicting Ethier's numbers for a whole season, and sorry sir, you have no crystal ball anymore than I do.
