Mark Prior was my 1st pick in my draft. I know he's been added to the disabled list because of his right achiles. I've heard that he's going to be missing a few games. Does that take Prior's value down? Do I even need to worry about him? or is it just a little thing where he will be pitchin' like last year soon? I know I'm being a little to sensitive but I'm worried about him because he was my 1st pick and the most valuable player on my team.

Bah. Dont worry about it. He should only be out a couple weeks. Probably miss 3 starts.

According to MLB.com on him he'll be put on the 15-day DL but could come back in half the time. They feel he's coming along as he should. I wouldnt worry to much. Not as much as im worryin about my Schmidt anyway.

I've heard April 12th. His value does drop a bit. Assuming he would have started 32 games, he now looks like he will miss 2 starts, so his value is reduced by 2/32.
It's possibly a lingering injury that could reduce his value further.

"Mark Prior will start the season on the 15-day disabled list because of inflammation in his right Achilles' tendon."

You are foolish if you don't think the achilles is going to be a problem off and on throughout the season. It was bothering him last September, and it will continue to bother him throughout the season.

That tendon can effect his balance especially from the stretch/push off, but he's so young I can't see it inhibiting him for too long. I wouldn't shy away from him one bit.
He'll still be one of the top 3 pitchers I aim to get.
Don't fret matey.
