Best RP for Holds, WHIR

Postby saemick » Fri May 14, 2010 10:19 am

I'm in a league with Holds as a category, so I need a RP that will help me get holds, but not hurt me in ERA & WHIP. The 2 best available are:

Arthur Rhodes (CIN - RP)
Joel Zumaya (DET - RP)

Currently I have Fernando Rodney on my roster and am contemplating dropping him, but wasn't sure b/c he should still have value to get me some holds as well as potentially move into the closers role if Fuentes fails/gets hurt.

Here's the rest of my roster:

12-team 6x6 H2H Yahoo! NON-KEEPER league (includes HOLDS)
c: Doumit
1b: Miguel Cabrera
2b: Cano
ss: Stephen Drew
3b: David Wright
IF: Kelly Johnson
OF: Heyward, Carlos Gonzalez, BJ upton
Utl: Freese
BN: Ian Desmond, Sizemore
SP: Hamels, Nolasco, James Shields, J. Sanchez, Buchholz, Slowey, Holland
RP: Bell, Wilson, Neftali Feliz, Rodney, Joba
DL: Granderson, Mike Gonzalez
Stat categories: Hitters: R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS Pitchers: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, HOLDS

I gotta go with the Z-Man. I just think that Detroit will be up more than Cincy and he's a solid flame thrower.

Add Zumaya but keep Rodney.

I'd probably cut Desmond.

Yeah, get Zumaya. As long as he stays healthy, he's nasty. I too would hang onto Rodney and possibly drop Desmond.

Since I already have a short bench, I really don't want to drop Desmond in case I have a player sit/get hurt / have off days. By only having 1 hitter on the bench I think it hurts me on all the batting categories. That being said, should I drop Rodney or another pitcher for either Zumaya or Rhodes?
