I don't know about anybody else, but I've been a big fan of Artest since his Chicago days. You've got to respect a guy who comes out to play that hard every game with a defensive focus. I'm really glad it all came together for him last night.
I wasn't a fan, but I admired him as an individual defender since his Chicago days. Obviously that fight in Detroit put him in a bad light, but he's a pretty likable guy despite his mercurial nature.
Of all the Lakers, I was happiest for Ron. This was a tough year in him adjusting to the triangle, rounding into shape, having to shoot out of slumps (often times deeper into slumps), and those brain fart moments becoming magnified given the stage. His defense had been great since the turn of the second half and it was fitting that he got that crucial three to keep the Lakers ahead for good last night. It was a pure joy to see Ron Ron be deliriously happy over winning his first ring.
