Everyday Eddie Guardado is the man.

Otter: Germans?

Yep, the job belongs to Eddie Guardado. ;-D

You need to follow baseball from January to March! ;-7

Just messing with ya! However- even if Guardado does slip- the Mariners will turn to Soriano before Hasegawa.

Yeah, Kaz left.

And to add to the Soriano/Shiggs thing, he's probably right. Shiggs isn't much of a "closer." Closers tend to have a big knockout pitch to K guys. They can usually bring the heat, too. Shiggs is a groundout pitcher, he uses deception and location much more than power. Look at those low strikeout numbers.

I am sorry- I am not trying to seem like a tough guy or an ass, but this is a FANTASY BASEBALL WEBSITE and I just find it hard to believe that their are guys here that did not know that one of the games best pitching teams lost their closer to Japan over TWO MONTHS ago. Sazaki saved 40 games just two years ago-

Kaz

Postby d18Mike » Wed Mar 24, 2004 3:10 am

Great article about Kaz (and Japanese players in general) in Sports Illustrated last week. It suggests that Kaz left because his fastball is gone and he didn't want to "lose face" by relinquishing his role to Shiggy or Guardado.
