I have him in a keeper league, and I am a bit worried. Especially when I remember who his brother is and that he was similarly awesome in his first year or two and then tailed off quite a bit.
All of this considered, he is still 22 years old and still have five years before he starts to hit is prime, using the "27 is peak age" adage.
For some reason he's taking more pitches inside the strike zone but swinging at more outside the zone. Hopefully it's just an anomaly that will work itself the rest of the season. Keepers/Dynasties should definitely show some patience and not sell low.
2 dongs, 4 runs, 4 ribbies, and a bag last night, while going 3 for 3. He's good for the week as far as I'm concerned. Anything more is gravy. The dude has been on a tear lately. I think he ends up around .275 with 32 homers, 26 steals, 105 runs, 95 rbi's. Considering he is hitting .256 now and most likely won't end up there, projecting his recordables over the rest of the year at the .256 rate alone would give you great numbers. What if he ends up at .275 on the season, which has him hitting .295 the ROW. Gives those numbers a nice bump. Don't mean to ramble here, but Upton is a special player and another thing that goes unmentioned, is that even with his low AVG, he has been consistent with HR,SB (no droughts in those categories). That is invaluable in H2H. I love this guy. If only Lind could get going.....
