Justin Upton, coming around or overrated?

Why should people relax? He has been a bust in terms of a early teens pick.

Upton was more often drafted in the late teens/early twenties. I was able to get him at 27 in my $ league. At #60 on the ESPN Player Rater and climbing, I tend to think of him as a mild disappointment rather than bust. And I fully expect him to be top 20 at the end of the year.

Braun will be far more consistent for his career.

In comparison sakes Braun=Pujols
whereas Upton=Fielder, Howard, Texiera.

I got him with the 51st pick in my 30-teamer and he has been about that so far. He seems to be coming around now.

So the 23 year old Upton is destined to be at best a late first round draft pick in standard leagues? What exactly are you basing this amazing conclusion off of?

I am saying Braun is consistent like Pujols, where Upton is insconsistent, like the other 3 but, potential to have just as good of years

I think he's saying right now, Upton is inconsistent, but in the next 2-3 years, he could hop into that Braun/Pujols level of consistent production.

I thought the comparison was supposed to be what he was supposed to be when he reached his potential in the future.

If he reaches his potential he's more valuable than all those guys. If he gets there, he's a perennial top 3 pick. Of course, that's a big if.

When they were both picked, weren't Justin Upton and Jay Bruce rated as having similar potential? People seem to forget about Bruce, but he's actually starting to figure everything out.
