Very nice list. deep enough for my deep league, yet some real possibilities there.
There are a few things with the New York Yankees that never change. That's pride, tradition, and most of all, we have the greatest fans in the world. -Derek Jeter, 9/21/08 -- last words from old Yankee Stadium

Yes, with Werth likely departing FA Brown looks in line to be the Phils RF for years to come starting next season.
I agree. Even though many Phils fans refuse to accept the fact that Werth leaves in FA, I just don't see how they will be able to afford to keep him unless he crumbles in the 2nd half and that affects his market value tremendously. But I do not think there is any chance we see brown in the majors this yr, probably not even for a cup of tea in sept. The next step for Brown will be AAA, not the majors. He needs too many injuries to happen for him to even be considered called up, and even then i can see philly signing a name off the street before they rush brown if that would happen.
worst case senario for brown owners is that werth is resigned and brown has to wait one more yr for ibanez to become a free agent and he would be an injury away from cracking the starting OF spot in 2011.
You are correct. What bothers me is that the signing of Ibanez (3 yr $30 mil) is the reason the cannot currently afford Werth. They did not need to sign Ibanez at all let alone for 3 years. I am hopeful that they will deal him back to the AL this year and give Brown a shot, but it is doubtful that that will happen.
Who was going to play LF for the Phillies in 2009?

There were plenty of cheaper right-handed hitting (and better fielding) options last year and this year. Ibanez's left handed bat ruined the Phils in the playoffs. It was irresponsible for Amaro to invest so much money into exactly what the team didn't need. Ibanez is in his late 30's, he looks like shit this year and is owed $10mil next year. Baaaaaaaaaaaad signing by Amaro. As I said I am hopeful they will deal him this year and let Brown and maybe a right handed hitting vet (Jemaine Dye for example) take over in LF.

Not that I'm that attached to the thread but Ibanez was the questionably the best player in baseball during the 1st half of the season last year and carried the team while much of the Phillies studs didn't get going until later. Not saying Ibanez is worth it but a game won in April-June is worth the same as a game late in the season and Ibanez won plenty for the Phillies early last year. I say give Ibanez some leash and some respect as it's a long season.

Raul played well for about 65 games. Since then? In 113 games he has 15 HR, 53 RBI and is hitting somewhere around .235. It is quite obvious his 1st half of 09' was a tremendous fluke. I would bet that a platoon of Dominic Brown & F. Francisco can replicate those numbers right now while adding some great baserunning and above average fielding. If Philly is smart they will unload Ibanez ASAP if they can find any takers. Philly doesn't even need a LF in return for Ibanez as a D. Brown + F. Francisco platoon is an upgrade from Ibanez right now.
I follow the Giants beat writter on twitter and he said a reliable source said Posey will be called up prior to tomorrows game. But it is uncomfirmed so take from that what you will.
