I would love to see Blanks get called up to San Diego, but right now there is no room for him to play. as is they have too many OF with Ludwick, Venable, Maybin, Denorfia. I've read for a little while now that Ludwick is an option to get traded, but even then does Blanks get called up and given a chance to start every day?

i think thats the plan. Ludwick and Denorfia aren't long term options, and Blanks is still controllable for a number of years.
I wonder how SD feels about using him as an OF, where his fielding prowess is nothing short of awful. Would they push Rizzo from 1B to LF if Ludwick is traded?
I wouldn't be surprised if they toyed around with trading Blanks in the off season, assuming there's still no room for him to play.

actually hes not that bad in the OF, dont know where youve read otherwise. His OF play was fine, his bat wasnt ready. He moves well for a guy his size, but I dont know if they want him making all the throws yet
I don't imagine a lot of people adding him given how much Rizzo struggled making the transition. Although Blanks should have a slight advantage since it's not his 1st call-up. I'll be keeping an eye on him, but not expecting a whole lot (plus I already have an excess of OF).
